The technologies
The following summary of technologies are the ones I have chosen to specialize in. Either together, or in different combinations, they allow for a wide variety of applications to be build. The projects page has a few examples of web sites and applications where they can be seen in action.
Ruby on Rails
is a framework for developing database-backed web applications.
It is designed to make web development faster, simpler and more efficient.
Adobe Flex
is a framework for building web applications with rich user
interfaces, while
Adobe Air
is a runtime that allows web applications to be decoupled from the
browser and run on the desktop.
For building pure old-fashioned desktop applications, there is JRuby, which is a Java powered Ruby implementation, combining the strenghts of both the extensive Java platform with the flexibility and expressiveness of the Ruby language.
